◾100 mg/ml oral solution
◾Citicoline
💠Composition:-
◾Each ml contains: Citicoline (1.N.N.). 100 mg; Excipients, Q. S
💠Properties:-
◾Citicoline stimulates the biosynthesis of structural phospholipids of neuronal membrane, Citicoline, by means of this action improves the function of membrane mechanisms, such as the functioning of the ionic exchange pumps and receptors inserted there, the modulation of which is indispensable in neurotransmission
◾Thanks to its membranes stabilizing action, citicoline has cerebral antiedematous properties.
◾Clinical trials have demonstrated that Citicoline improves the symptoms associated with cerebral dysfunction conditions consequent to various processes, such as:-
✒️head trauma and
✒️acute cerebrovascular accident.
◾Citicoline improves the level of attention and consciousness, and also acts favourably on amnesia and cognitive, sensitive and motor disorders associated with these pathologies.
💠Indications:-
✒️Stroke, Acute phase and it's neurological sequelae
✒️Traumatic Brain injury and its neurological sequelas.
✒️Cognitive and behavioural impairment secondary to chronic vascular and degenerative cerebral disorders.
💠Dosage:-
➡️Adults:-
◾The usual dosage is from 500 to 2,000 mg daily, depending on the severity of the symptoms to be treated.
◾Somazina can be administered directly or dissolved in half a glass of water (120 ml), with the meals or between them.
➡️Elderly:-
◾Somazina does not need any specific dose adjustment for this age group.
➡️Children:-
◾Somazina has not been adequately controlled in children, therefore, it should only be administered when your doctor considers it necessary.
💠Contraindications:-
◾Must not be administered to patients with hypertonia of the parasympathetic or in case of known allergy to the drug.
💠Side-effects:-
◾The side effects of this medicinal product are very rare (less than 1/10,000 patients).
◾It may produce headache, vertigo, nausea, occasional diarrhea, reddening of the face, edema of extremities and changes in arterial pressure.
◾If you notice any side effect, please tell your doctor.
💠Incompatibilities:-
◾Must not be administered along with medicaments containing meclofenoxate.
◾Somazina reinforces the effects of L-Dopa
💠Special warnings and precautions for use:-
◾Somazina may cause allergic reactions due to the presence of Red Ponceau 4R.
◾It may cause asthma, especially in patients allergic to acetylsalicylic acid.
◾Somazina contains sorbitol as an excipient; therefore, patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine.
◾Somazina contains methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates; therefore, it may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
💠Pregnancy and lactation:-
◾Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
◾Somazina, like many other medicines, must not be administered if you are pregnant, if you may be pregnant or during lactation unless your doctor considers it necessary.
💠Effects on ability to drive and use machines:-
◾No effects on ability to drive and use machines have been observed.
💠Overdose:-
◾No case of overdose has been reported.

◾Box containing 30 ml of solution and a dosing syringe.
💠Norms for the correct administration of the preparation:-
◾Somazina is administered with the aid of the dosing syringe, according to the following scheme:-
1 -Introduce the dosing syringe with the piston pressing to the bottom.
2-Aspirate the indicated dose making the piston turn, taking into account that the liquid contained in the syringe coincides exactly with the prescribed level.
3-Administer the preparation directly or dissolved in half a glass of water (120 ml).
